But that's not all, either. The game is all about dance, right? There can be no dance without music. The dance revolution has several tracks on which it can be played. The speed of the game and even the movements of the player in the console will depend on the beats within the music. If the music is slow, the player moves slow; and if the music is fast, the player moves fast.

The concept of the dance online game makes a heady cocktail of music, arcade gaming and plain ol' reflexes. There is absolutely no wonder that it has captivated the attention of the world in such a large way. There is one activity that every one of us should be doing every day and that is meditation. As you look at your day, the demands that are placed on you and the never ending "To Do" list you may scoff at the idea of taking time to meditate. Meditation is a time of contemplation, many use it as a way to deepen their spirituality or connection to nature. Meditation is a way to keep the mind "sane" and able to function properly. Think of meditation as a work out for the mind. It is important that we keep our mind as fit as we keep our body, if not more so. Our mind is a versatile and complex mechanism but like anything it can become boggled, clouded, overwhelmed which makes it have problems functioning the way it should.

The mind, in all of its complexity has different levels of operation. These levels work by what we know as brainwaves. As you go through your day, each new activity or situation initiates a new level of brainwave activity. Our mind also uses the brainwaves to give us time to relax, refocus and manage all of the information that we take in during the day. Think about all the information that is processed or at least taken in by your mind everyday.

When our mind doesn't get the opportunity to process this information it becomes bogged down, backed up and unable to function properly. Lack of rest and/or sleep contributes to this back up. Think of it as a runner who is going to participate in a marathon, and a month before the marathon they stop running. Obviously it is harder to run that marathon, because they aren't in peak shape. This goes for the mind as well, with out time to process, with out rest, our mental fitness slacks off.

Energy is something that flows through all of our bodies. This energy flow, this power is what holistic healers and alternative medicine practitioners use to help heal and explain ailments. This same energy is a part of our mind as well. The energy from our mind radiates out through the body's nervous system so that there is communication between the mind and the body.

Finding a way to recharge the energy of the mind helps to keep the mind fit. There are a number of ways to help the mind relax such as music, candle therapy, aromatherapy, breathing techniques and of course meditation. Using a combination of these tools with meditation is most effective to gain mental fitness.

Failing to keep our minds fit can lead to age related mental disorders. It is imperative that we continue to try to learn new things, this keeps the mind youthful and sharp. Learning new things creates new pathways in our brain. Those new pathways help to transmit information from the mind to the body and the body to the mind.

It is hard to learn new things though if don't take the time to let our mind relax and replenish itself. As you work towards improving your physical fitness, you should not overlook improving your mental fitness. While you are out doing your daily walk you can let your mind do its own daily walk, by letting go of the day, focusing on your breathing or the air around you as you walk. Giving your mind "down time." This is meditation.

Your mind can relax and regroup while you are listening to music as well. You don't have to set up a formal environment to let your mind relax. You just need to give it the opportunity to relax and replenish. While you are brushing your teeth, combing your hair, taking a shower, driving to work: take the time to tune into what is going on inside you.

The Bowflex Ultimate  Home Gym offers the leg attachment, the lat tower attachment, the aerobic rowing feature, the squat station, and a 2-position adjustable main pulley system. In comparison, the Bowflex Ultimate ® 2 Home Gym offers all of the above with the following exceptions: the Ultimate 2 offers an optional integrated abdominal crunch accessory, the Preacher curl attachment, and it has a 5-position adjustable (cable change) main pulley system.

The Bowflex Ultimate® Home Gym offers 90 potential exercises, while the Ultimate 2 offers 95+ possible exercises. In the area of standard weight resistance, both machines offer 310 pounds. The Bowflex Ultimate® 2 offers a 410-pound weight resistance feature for an added cost. Both Bowflex® home gyms come with the patented Power Rod® no-time-limit warranty. In the event that you actually wear out these rods (which is highly unlikely considering the manner in which they are manufactured), the company will replace them free of charge.

Quickly Build Massive Chest Muscles - Top 6 Most Effective Exercises

One of my favorite all time lines from a television sitcom is "Would you rather have rock hard pecks or saggy man breast?" Well think about it, which would you rather have? Men aren't supposed to have breast so let's figure out how to get rid of those saggy man breast and build some rock hard pecks and massive chest muscles.

Follow these top 6 exercises to build your chest muscles and in no time you will have massive and impressive chest muscles.

Tip 1: Do not lock your elbows when you are at the top of the movement as this can put excessive strain on your joint. Keep elbows slightly bent.

1. Bench Press - This is an exercise that allows you to lift the most weight and is very popular in gyms. Unfortunately many people perform them incorrectly which results in a number of injuries.

Start by lying on the bench face up with your feet flat floor. Keep your abdominal muscles tightened so that your lower back is flat and protected. Keep your shoulder blades pinched together and focus pushing the barbell towards the ceiling with your chest muscles. Then slowly lower the weights back to the beginning position; do not let your upper arms go past the point where they are parallel to the floor as you can damage the shoulders.

Tip 2: Lifting the weight should be fast 1-2 seconds and lowering about 3 seconds. Much of the muscle building power of resistance exercises comes from performing this technique. So once you have lifted the weight, don't waste the rest of the exercise and just drop it.

2. Seated Chest Press - Very much like the bench press with the exception that you will be using a weight machine for this exercise. Because of using a machine this exercise is a bit safer than a normal bench press.

Adjust the seat for your height so the handles are level to the middle of your chest muscles. Focus on you chest muscles and squeeze as you push the handles forward. Slowly bring the handles back just to the point where the weights are about to touch weight stack (don't let it touch), then push back out again and repeat.

3. Dumbbell Flies - This exercise is very similar to the bench press and safer for those that do not have a spotter. It is also an exercise that forces you to use stabilizer muscles to keep the dumbbells under control.

Lie on the bench and hold the dumbbells out to your sides making sure to keep your elbows slightly bent. Now move the weights up in an arcing motion over your chest, then lower back to starting position and repeat.

Tip 3: Dumbbell flies will build the inner chest giving it a clear separation.

4. Cable Crossovers - This exercise is similar in motion to the dumbbell flies, the difference here is that cable crossovers keep tension on the pectoral muscles throughout the motion.

Stand with the pulleys locked into a position above your head, take a pulley into each hand and pull down so that you are now in a "T" shape. Standing with one foot in front of the other focus on the chest muscles as you bring your arms together in front of you. Hold this position for a second, then slowly release.

Tip 4: You should lower the weights with control so that it takes about 3 seconds to return to the starting position.

5. Pushups - A great way of working the chest muscles as well as the arms and building core strength. You also don't need any equipment to do this exercise.

Get down on the floor on your hands and knees, place your hands just a further than shoulder width. Now straighten your legs and push your feet up onto your toes, keeping your body straight. Bend your elbows and lower into the pushup position. Push back up to the beginning plank position and repeat.

Tip 5: Make sure to keep your head and neck in alignment with the rest of your body through the movement. Hold your stomach in tight to support your back and if you feel the need for support then you can do a modified pushup by placing your knees on the floor.

6. Straight Arm Pull Overs - This exercise is great for building the pectoral muscles and expanding the rib cage.

Lie on your shoulder crossways on a mat so that your head is hanging. Hold a dumbbell with both hands over your chest and slowly lower in back over your head in an arcing motion, then raise it to the starting position and repeat.

Always remember to help avoid injury, before doing any exercises you should stretch your muscles and be warmed up. You should also stretch the muscles after working out as resistance training tends to shorten the muscles and you want to avoid this. A good way of stretching these muscles is to hang from a bar to stretch your entire body. The weight of your body will act as weight and you will feel a stretch in your chest muscles.

In our constant endeavour to improve and expand on the opportunities available to our graduates, and other qualified fitness instructors, NCEHS have developed this two day certification programme to meet demand from the health fitness industry for qualified and competent aqua fitness instructors. Aqua Fitness classes are rapidly becoming a part of the standard class offering being made to clients of fitness facilities with pools.

The science of exercise and sports nutrition is a rapidly expanding field with new career opportunities and exciting career pathways for Exercise and Fitness instructors and Personal Trainers.

The aim of this programme is for fitness instructors to develop a critical understanding of Aqua Fitness Training and to enable them to obtain the high standards required to teach Aqua Fitness safely and effectively to the general public following the National Standards & Guidelines as set down by NCEHS.

National Qualification in Pre and Post Natal Exercises

The National Qualification in Pre & Post Natal Exercise has been offered since 1996 and has been established to offer Pre & Post Natal clients safe, appropriate and effective exercise, more energy during pregnancy, reduced stress and anxiety, quicker recovery from birth, fewer complications in pregnancy, shorter labour time and increased self esteem.

The National Qualification in Pre and Post Natal Exercise has been approved by the NCEHS Educational Committee and is designed to assist fitness professionals who would like to work with pre and post natal clients. Opportunities exist for professional practitioners to establish and develop pre and post natal programmes within existing health club timetables.

The aim of this programme is for fitness instructors & personal trainers to develop the advanced skills and knowledge specific to pre and post natal exercise prescription.

National Qualification in Exercise and the Older Adult

In our constant endeavour to improve and expand on the opportunities available to our graduates, and other qualified fitness instructors, NCEHS have developed this one day certification programme to meet demand from the health fitness industry for qualified and competent fitness instructors who can specialise in the specific exercise requirements of the older adult.

The aim of the module is to provide the health fitness instructor with skills that will assist them to help older adults maintain and/or develop functional fitness and age "successfully". In order to achieve this goal current program design protocols must be altered to better address the needs of the older adult. Suggestions and recommendations for exercise programs that can improve the older adults' ability to efficiently accomplish activities of daily living are explored.

The National Qualification in Exercise and the Older Adult is a post-graduate Advanced Certification Programme (ACP) and has been established to meet the growing demand for this rapidly expanding area of our industry. The growth experienced in this area in recent years has been enormous and has led to a big demand for qualified instructors in fitness facilities around the country to meet the public appetite for such programmes.

National Qualification in Spin Cycling

The science of exercise and sports nutrition is a rapidly expanding field with new career opportunities and exciting career pathways for Exercise and Fitness instructors and Personal Trainers. They offer Ireland's National Qualification in Spin Cycling which can be obtained by completing our one day Advanced Certification Programme.

The National Qualification in Spin Cycling is the only professional qualification offered for Spin Cycling in Ireland. NCEHS started offering this qualification in 1997 and Spin Cycling has become one of the most popular and successful fitness class to hit the exercise industry in years with almost every health club and fitness centre in Ireland now offering Spin Cycling classes to their clients. These classes have proved extremely popular.

The National Qualification in Step Aerobics is presently the only professional qualification offered for Step Aerobics in Ireland. Exercises for Increased Power, Stability and Injury Prevention

Lumbar Neutral Spine Exercises

Lie on back with your knees bent. Maintain a neutral position. Draw your naval in towards your spine and hold up the pelvic floor muscles. Maintain this contraction constantly at 15 to 30 percent of full power and continually breathe into your ribcage and not into your stomach.

If you feel pain with this exercise, you’re tightening up too strongly, you’re not in a neutral spine position or you’re not breathing correctly. This exercise is pain free. This applies to all of the exercises that follow. Perform three sets of one minute twice a day. Rest three seconds between sets. Perform one repetition every four seconds.

Abdominal/Lumbar Bent Knee Raise

Lie on your back. Tighten your abdominal muscles (visualize trying to push your belly button up under your rips). Use your hand to help push your belly button up under your ribs if needed. While maintaining abdominal tension, lift one leg up to 90 degrees, with your knee bent. Slowly lower the leg with the knee bent, maintaining abdominal tension. Hold your core and control the movement with the tightening of your abdominal and pelvic muscles, and then breathe. Repeat with the other limb.

Maintain a proper lumbar position throughout the exercise. Don’t hold your breath. You must multitask. Perform one set of 10 repetitions twice a day.

Isolated Hip Abdominal with Pillow

Lie in bed or on a firm surface with a towel roll or pillow between your knees. Stabilize in a neutral position. Squeeze your legs together and release, keeping the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles tight. Breathe out when squeezing and releasing the pillow.

Don’t hold your breath. Perform one set of 10 repetitions twice a day. Perform one repetition every four seconds. 

Hip External Rotation/Abdominal on Side

Lie on your right side with your knees bent and feet together. Stabilize. Lift your left knee upward. Lower and repeat. Repeat the exercise lying on your left side.

Keep the back and pelvis still and articulate through the hip. Perform one set of 10 repetitions twice a day. Perform one repetition every four seconds.

Lumbar (Forward Rock) Quadruped

Begin on hands and knees. Maintain a neutral spine position by tightening your abdominal muscles. Slowly rock forward, while maintaining a neutral spine. Movement should take place at the hips. Return to the starting position and repeat.

This exercise requires a gradual tilt of the pelvis as you move forward. Perform one set of 10 repetitions twice a day. Perform one repetition every four seconds.
